Building the Vision

Our facility is out of room! Pioneer Bible Translators invites all of our friends to help accomplish the first stage of Phase III of our facilities expansion. We are building a team of missionaries that will partner with other Bible agencies to achieve the greatest milestone in Great Commission history: churches with Scripture transforming every language community on earth by 2050. To accomplish the vision we need more room in our Dallas headquarters.

Phase III of Our Facilities Expansion in Two Stages

Stage 1: $1.76 Million for the Vision Building in 2015

In 2014 and early 2015, I believe God will help us raise the $1.76 million needed to complete the Within Our Reach Campaign. In late 2015, those funds will allow us to launch construction of stage 1 of our building campaign. The 6000 square foot Vision Building will provide among other things:

  1. 4390 square feet of flexible space with a combination of cubicles and meeting area
  2. 810 square feet of prayer tower designed to host a 24-hour prayer vigil to accomplish the Bible translation task

We need the office and gathering space to continue to recruit, train, and send the next generation of missionaries that will leave behind them a world where everyone has the Word of God in their language. We need the prayer tower because prayer is our strategy to accomplish the mission. We want a 24 hour prayer vigil in this building for people from Wycliffe, Pioneer Bible Translators, and area churches to call on God day and night for the power to cross the last language barriers on earth with church, Scripture, and life transformation.

For the first stage, we have already raised about $360,000 and we need another $1,400,000 to achieve the goal.  In October of 2014 a donor issued a matching funds challenge for the next $500,000 raised in this campaign! We are now in the process of matching that $500,000. As that money comes in, we intend to also apply for a capping grant that will provide the last $264,000 of the project. If all of these elements come together, we anticipate starting construction in late 2015.

Stage 2: $4 Million for an Office Facility in 2019

Starting in 2017 we will put together a campaign to complete a 12,200 square foot office building as we hope to continue to double in size every 6 and a half years or so. We want this growth in order to go from working on 60 translation projects to working on 300 projects by 2030 in order to be able to help complete all the translations needed by 2050. By then it will be possible for every language on earth to have at least the New Testament available if the Church will continue to invest enthusiastically in the task. When we finish this larger building we will withdraw the cubicles from the Vision Building in order to have a larger area for board and staff meetings, recruitment events, training classes, team fellowship celebrations, daily staff prayer meetings, and donor mobilization gatherings.

We invite all of the friends of Pioneer Bible Translators to significantly invest in Phase III of our facilities expansion.
